Welcome
Welcome to my professional portfolio. My name is Dawna Kilgore and this website is a collection of the coursework I have completed as I have worked towards earning my Master of Arts Degree in Education.
About Me
I am in my 7th year of teaching at Holt Junior High School. I currently teach 7th and 8th grade science.
I began my college education at Alpena Community College in Alpena, Michigan and completd earning my bachelor's degree at Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan. While there I majored in Biology and minored in Chemistry.
In May my husband, Jeremiah, and I celebrated our tenth wedding anniversary. We are blessed to have two wonderful sons who never cease to amaze us. Nathaniel is 5 and began kindergarten this fall (it's a bit odd to be the parent for once and not the teacher). Ethan is 3 and has the most humorous personality!
I am a cancer survivor! On October 1, 2009 (one week before my 29th birthday) I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. I completed 6 long and grueling months of chemotherapy on March 25, 2010 and have been cancer free since January 5, 2010 (there are some dates I just can't forget). I am eternally thankful to a God who loves me and has blessed we with a second chance at life.
In my free time (which I'm looking forward to more of) I enjoy reading, scrapbooking, kayaking, and four wheeling.
